Sunday Prayer

May your life be filled with colour
May your life be filled with joy

In world that’s full of hate
In a world that’s full of pain

May you find your own save place
May you speak your perfect rhyme

And when darkness comes upon you
And despair is holding thight

Know that love will always find you
And once love holds there be light

Am giving up can’t get it right so throwing it out in the ether. Sometimes that works.

Your Need

Your Need
To find someone to hate
To find someone to grate
To find someone to belittle
To find someone more brittle

confuses me

Your Need
For mercurial machinations
For merciless judgement
For malevolent gossip
For marauding emotions

angers me

Your Need
for grandeur
for fake valour
for othering
for bothering

annoys me

Your need to hide your insecurities
Is not more important than our need to be safe

The Shadow

Hovering over your every move
Darkness shrouded
Lying in wait
To pounce on the unsuspecting

To raise a storm tide
For a wrong word, a look, a smile
For a letter missing
For an idea incomplete
For independent thought
For a rumour taken as truth
For truth taken as lie
For a molehill perceived as an elephant

The shadow is stuck in front of the mirror
Concealer to hide the marks
A fragile mask of normalcy

Not to be seen
Not to be known
Not to be found out

Hasty strokes applied
Over and over again
Mimikri for a world full of enemies

They must not know
They must not see
The shadow is caught in echoes of his reflection
